Laurie McQueen

Partner

Laurie is a Partner in the M&A/Corporate and Commercial Group and Chair of the Emerging Companies, Venture and Growth Capital Group.

Prior to joining KRB, Laurie started her practice with two top-tier law firms as well as senior in-house counsel experience with Enerkem Inc., an important player in the cleantech space, and a Quebec-based fintech company. She also acquired extensive experience in consumer banking in Canada, the U.S. and France prior to pursuing her legal career. These collective experiences, as well as regular dealings with a wide variety of entrepreneurs, investors, senior executives, boards and venture capital investment funds, allow her to quickly grasp the demands and needs of her clients and to provide creative, business-minded advice.

Laurie regularly works with emerging companies (and investors) in a wide range of industries and emerging technologies. She has considerable experience accompanying her clients through all stages of growth, and regularly assists with company formation and capital structures, venture capital investments, fund formation, corporate governance and shareholder matters and add-ons and divestitures.  In addition, Laurie advises on joint ventures in Canada and abroad, strategic partnerships, collaborative R&D arrangements, licensing agreements, intellectual property protection, employment and incentive matters and other commercial agreements and transactions. Laurie’s clients appreciate her steady support and attention to the concerns that preoccupy them.

Outside of the firm, Laurie is President of the Board of Directors of Microcredit Montreal, where she has volunteered for over 12 years.
