Laurie Meitin
Partner
Laurie is a Partner in KRB’s Business Law group. Prior to joining the KRB team, she was the head of the business law department of another firm. Laurie regularly performs mandates involving the purchase and sale of businesses, financings, mergers and corporate reorganizations, and skillfully drafts complex contractual agreements pertaining to all areas of business law. She prides herself on her ability to offer a full range of business-minded legal services to her clients.
Laurie is a graduate of the University of Montreal’s Faculty of Law and began her career in Montreal with a firm specializing in corporate legal services for small and medium-sized businesses.
Representative Work
Acted on behalf of CDS Foods Inc. (“CDS”), a business of importing and distributing food including but not limited to garlic, ginger, shallots and turmeric, in connection with the sale of all of the issued and outstanding shares held by the shareholders of CDS to the private equity firm, a North American private equity firm
Acted on behalf of a network of hearing care clinics across Quebec in respect to the acquisition of a competitor, enabling it to increase its network to a total of 21 clinics across the province of Quebec
Acted on behalf of the acquirer of a federally chartered, registered financial services and financial planning brokerage firm, authorized to act as the Managing General Partner (MGA) for numerous notable financial institutions, whose products it distributes through licensed independent financial security advisors throughout Canada
Acted on behalf of Planète Mobile Inc., one of the largest networks of authorized Rogers and Fido dealers in Canada, in connection with its strategic acquisition of Communications Méga-Sat Inc. and Communications Méga-Sat Trois-Rivières Inc., two companies with an important presence in the mobile communication distribution industry in the Province of Quebec; this transaction further solidified our client’s market share by adding an additional 12 locations throughout Quebec to its existing 25-location network
