Suzanne Villeneuve
Partner | Department Head, Banking & Finance
Suzanne is a Partner and Head of KRB’s Banking and Finance group. Her practice focuses on corporate finance, banking law, financial services and corporate/commercial law, and includes asset-based lending, syndicated lending, structured finance, factoring, private equity, project finance, asset finance and leasing, restructuring transactions and related areas. Suzanne regularly represents financial institutions and corporate borrowers and has worked with businesses in various industries, including the retail, manufacturing, transportation and financial sectors, among other.
She also has a diversified corporate and commercial practice and significant expertise with respect to sales and acquisitions of businesses and assets, commercial real estate, joint ventures, commercial leases, licensing and shareholder matters.
Drawing on her experience in bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring and commercial litigation, Suzanne also provides advice to her clients with respect to the financing, sale or purchase of assets in the context of financial distress, debt restructuring or with respect to the completion of complex or litigious acquisitions.

Acted on behalf of a Canadian chartered bank in respect of the granting of credit facilities to a developer to finance the acquisition of 2 residential buildings comprised of 110 and 84 units, respectively
Acted on behalf of a Canadian chartered bank in connection with the take-out financing of an exceptional 18-storey mixed-use building including 321 apartment units and measuring nearly 14,000 sq. ft. located in Old Montreal
Acted on behalf of a Canadian chartered bank in respect of the acquisition financing of a large property located in the City of Montreal East
Acted on behalf of a Canadian chartered bank in respect of the acquisition financing of an iconic 2-building hotel in Montreal’s Old Port
Acted on behalf of two financial institutions as co-lenders in connection with the financing of a 161-unit Class A LEED-Gold certified building, which houses major financial institutions, large law firms and numerous retail services
Acted on the behalf of a major Canadian chartered bank in respect of the land and construction financing of a Pointe-Claire property slated for a 4-phase development project, the first phase of which consisted of the construction and development of an 11-story, 245-unit residential building
Acted on behalf of a real estate owner and manager of properties located throughout Canada and in the U.S. in respect of the acquisition from a major Canadian REIT of two shopping centres located in Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador respectively, representing over 520,000 total leasable sq. ft.
Acted on behalf of two Canadian chartered banks in connection with the granting of credit facilities for the acquisition of an existing senior residence and the construction of two additional senior residence buildings located in L’Anciennce-Lorette, Quebec
