Rob is a corporate/commercial and real estate lawyer with particular expertise in banking and finance, equipment lending and project finance. Prior to joining KRB, he was a Partner at a top-tier Canadian law firm, where he started his career in 1978.

Rob’s practice includes corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate advice. He has broad experience in Canadian and international loan syndications and equipment financing, and has represented Canadian and foreign banks and other financial institutions while at the same time acting for mid‑market Canadian companies.

Acted on behalf of an international financial service corporation in connection with project equipment financing of $200M for a British Columbia gold mining company.
Acted for an international financial services corporation in connection with a €42M equipment loan to a subsidiary of a Canadian mining company in Mali.
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with credit facilities in two continents for a heavy equipment design and construction group of companies.
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with the financing of a Québec based manufacturer of plywood and oriented strandboard.
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with significant term and operating credit facilities for a Québec based transportation group of companies.
Acted for a private company in respect of an $85M land sale to Pearson International Fuel Facilities Corporation for its airport fuel storage facilities in Mississauga, Ontario.
Acted for a private entrepreneur in respect of the construction and purchase of a Challenger Jet aircraft from Bombardier International.
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with the refinancing of its term and operating credits and ships flagged in Barbados.
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with term and operating credits for a company and ship financing in the Marshall Islands.
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with the leasing of several hundred railcars to an eastern Canadian dealer in scrap metal.
Regularly acts for major Canadian and U.S. banks on single-lender and syndicated facilities.
