Cristina Darwish

Cristina is a Partner in KRB’s Real Estate Group with previous experience at a top-tier Canadian law firm and as in-house counsel to large multinational corporations. She has strong abilities in transactional matters, governance, compliance and strategy. Prior to joining KRB, Cristina acted as legal counsel to businesses of all sizes in a broad range of commercial negotiations as well as domestic and international transactions, focusing on commercial real estate, mergers and acquisitions, and banking and finance. Her collective experiences, including dealing with senior executives and boards, provide Cristina with a tailored understanding of the needs and demands of her clients.

She completed her legal studies in both civil and common law at the University of Ottawa and Pantheon-Assas University in Paris, and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2010. She is also certified for the Canadian Securities Course of the Canadian Securities Institute. Outside the office she works closely with several charities and has acted for several years as co-chair to one of the largest hospital foundation events in North America.

Representative Work

Acted for a group of real estate investors in connection with an important acquisition and development of property from Dow Chemical Canada ULC.

Acted for the purchaser in a corporate buyout and land acquisition for a prominent downtown Montreal development project.

Represented Equinoxe Virtual Clinique Corp. in multiple commercial negotiations with large institutional clients.

Represented Camco Realties Inc. in the acquisition of several commercial and industrial properties.

Acted for both tenants and landlords (including both privately held companies and institutional owners) in various commercial and industrial lease negotiations in respect of prominent Montreal properties.

Acted for Bentall Kennedy in connection with the acquisition of a large-scale downtown Montreal office building.

Acted for an out-of-province acquirer of a portfolio of properties in the City of Montreal from Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust for an aggregate purchase price of over $28,000,000.

Acted for an out-of-province acquirer of a portfolio of properties in the City of Sherbrooke from BTB Real Estate Investment Trust for an aggregate purchase price of over $30,000,000.
