Cory Klumak
Associate
Cory is an Associate in KRB’s Banking and Finance Group whose practice focuses on corporate financing, banking law, real estate, and corporate/commercial law, including asset-based lending, syndicated lending, restructuring transactions and related areas. He regularly represents institutional lenders and corporate borrowers and has worked with businesses in various industries including the retail, automotive and financial sectors, among other.
Prior to joining the team, Cory completed his legal studies in England at University of London and graduated with distinction. Upon returning to Montreal, he obtained his civil law equivalency at the University of Montreal and worked for one of the largest private industrial real estate holders in Eastern Canada, where he was involved primarily in acquisition, construction, leasing matters and other related areas.
Representative Work
Acted on the behalf of a major Canadian chartered bank in respect of the land and construction financing of a Pointe-Claire property slated for a 4-phase development project, the first phase of which consisted of the construction and development of an 11-story, 245-unit residential building
Regularly acts for major Canadian chartered banks in connection with structuring and implementing real estate debt financing and corporate debt financing on single-lender and syndicated facilities ranging from $15M to $160M
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with the $133M construction financing of a 262,921 sq. ft. mixed-use property to be comprised of a 90-unit senior residence and a 181-unit rental property
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank, as syndicated agent, in connection with the $120M syndicated faciltiies for the financing of a 537,609 sq. ft. office and retail property
Acted for an American lessor in connection with an equipment finance facility to a greenfield gold mine operation in Newfoundland and Labrador
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with the $66.5M acquisition and development financing of a multi-residential property
Acted for a major Canadian chartered bank in connection with the $89M facilities for the refinancing of a newly-built warehousing and social-housing property
