Anthony is a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate and Commercial groups. Having spent several years practicing as a corporate attorney at tier-one law firms in Canada and the United States he has extensive experience in representing private companies, individuals, private equity funds and reporting issuers in the context of mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, capital markets transactions and ongoing disclosure obligations. His clients range from starts-ups to mature businesses and operate within a wide range of industries. As former General Counsel to two global professional hair care companies Anthony has particular industry expertise in the branded consumer products space, more specifically in the cosmetics industry.
Anthony regularly advises his clients with respect to ongoing general commercial matters, corporate governance, trademarks and anti-counterfeiting, employment law and regulatory compliance relating to the North American cosmetics industry. He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of general commercial agreements including those relating to the supply of goods and services, the distribution of branded goods, the licensing of intellectual property, website development and global marketing and influencer campaigns. In his former capacity as a General Counsel he directed multiple complex, multi-jurisdictional litigations in Canada, the United States, Latin America and Brazil involving matters as diverse as trademark infringement actions, partnership disputes, wrongful termination and harassment suits, alleged California Prop 65 violations and patent troll claims. Having extensive professional experience in both corporate/commercial law as well as litigation, Anthony has an uncommon yet valuable insight into the dynamic interplay between day-to-day commercial legal matters and the contentious proceedings to which they sometimes give rise.
